Man Utd AGREE £40million Alejandro Garnacho transfer with Chelsea as Ruben Amorim’s ‘Bomb Squad’ slowly depart.
According to The Sun: Manchester United has reached an agreement to transfer Alejandro Garnacho to Chelsea.
The Red Devils have agreed to sell the 21-year-old winger for £40 million.
GettyGarnacho signed a seven-year contract with Chelsea after a long wait for the opportunity to change clubs this summer.
The Argentine was eager to leave the team as he did not have a stable place in the starting lineup under Ruben Amorim.
This transfer became the fourth largest for United in their history, only behind the sales of Cristiano Ronaldo, Romelu Lukaku, and Angel Di Maria.
It is worth noting that this amount is the highest for a club academy graduate.
Chelsea also included a 10% sell-on clause in the transfer agreement.
According to SunSport, Manchester United managed to agree on the price of £40 million after Chelsea's initial offer of £25 million.
Garnacho scored six goals and provided two assists in 36 Premier League matches last season.
United Transfers
For United, the sum of £40 million will be counted as net profit in terms of Premier League financial fairness.
This money will help the club balance its finances after significant expenditures on players like Matheus Cunha, Bryan Mbeumo, and Benjamin Sesko.
United continues to look for opportunities to sell high-salaried players before the transfer window closes on Monday.
Brazilian winger Antony is likely to be the next one leaving the club.
SunSport reported that Antony is close to an agreement with Real Betis for a loan deal with an obligation to buy for £33 million next summer.
Other players who may leave the team include Jadon Sancho and Tyrell Malacia, who have not yet found new clubs but are not in the team lineup. Meanwhile, Marcus Rashford has already left the club, joining Barcelona on loan with an option to buy.
