Manchester United: Cunha's injury turned out to be less serious than expected.
According to The Sun: MANCHESTER UNITED hopes for a speedy recovery of Matheus Cunha after a hamstring injury, so he can participate in the derby against City.
The club believes that his injury is not as serious as previously thought.
Shutterstock EditorialThe 26-year-old forward missed the World Cup 2026 qualifiers for the Brazil national team. He left the pitch during United's dramatic 3-2 victory over Burnley last Saturday.
Nevertheless, the newcomer for £62.5 million from Wolverhampton left Old Trafford in good spirits and shared positive news.
On his Instagram page, he wrote:
“What an amazing vibe, it’s great to be here. I will return soon, always with joy and gratitude. Thank you for all the messages.”
Meanwhile, Mason Mount's injury may give Kobbie Mainoo the chance to make his first Premier League start of the season at the Etihad on September 14.
Mount played 30 minutes with an injury against Burnley before being replaced by Mainoo at halftime.
MBEUMO X SESKO
Brian Mbeumo is showing excellent form for the Cameroon national team, which can benefit Benjamin Sesko.
In a thrilling start at Old Trafford, Mbeumo has already scored two goals in four matches, although he failed to convert a crucial penalty during the dismal defeat in the Carabao Cup against Grimsby.
However, his two quick assists helped Cameroon win 3-0 against Eswatini on Thursday.

United have finally got an attacker who can deliver quality passes, which will come in handy for new No. 9 Sesko in his quest for his first goal.
At 192 cm tall, Sesko can play as a forward, holding the ball, bringing teammates into play, and providing options for long passes, crosses, and set pieces.
Meanwhile, SunSport reported that United are open to selling Andre Onana, as the transfer windows in Saudi Arabia and Turkey remain open this month.
Onana managed to keep things solid during 90 minutes for the Cameroon national team, which acted as an important boost of confidence after a dismal game at Blundell Park.
Brian Mbeumo and Benjamin Sesko could form a fearsome partnership at Manchester United AlamyUPDATE ON AMORIM
Currently, there are no updates on Ruben Amorim's meetings during the international break.
The Portuguese coach anticipated discussions about his future at United during the two-week international hiatus, as he doubts his ability to save the club following the defeat to Grimsby.
However, after Bruno Fernandes' successful penalty in extra time against Burnley, which secured the club's first victory of the season, there was no mention of negotiations with management.
Although Amorim himself is expressing doubts about his job, the club is not considering the possibility of his dismissal, as considerable efforts have been made to bring him from Sporting Lisbon.
Instead, Amorim is contemplating arranging overseas trips for his players to prepare the team during the season.
The shortened match schedule for United means they will only play one midweek match before Christmas — a home game against West Ham on December 3.

MAJOR RECORD AT STAKE
The staggering 75-year record of Old Trafford regarding player participation in every England squad for the World Cup is under threat.
The Red Devils have a unique record as the only club to have a player in every England squad for the World Cup since the country's first appearance in 1950.
Bobby Charlton was called up for the 1958 World Cup but did not play in the final after the tragic Munich disaster that year. Meanwhile, England failed to qualify for the tournaments of 1974, 1978, and 1994.
However, Luke Shaw, Harry Maguire, Mainoo, and Mount missed the current squad selection for Thomas Tuchel's team for the match against Andorra and Serbia this month.
United loanee Marcus Rashford was again called up by the former Chelsea manager, but hopes that Barcelona will activate their purchase option next summer.
Mainoo, 20, wants to get playing time on the pitch to catch Tuchel’s attention in a crowded English midfield, while Shaw has significant competition on the flank.
Maguire, who is suffering from a lack of playing time in the Premier League, was again overlooked when John Stones was ruled out through injury on Friday and Jarell Quansah was called up in his place.
Furthermore, none of the United players have been called up to the Under-21 team by Lee Carsley, which is a concerning sign for the future.

AMORIM'S PLIGHT
Casemiro appears to be first choice in Brazil’s midfield, which is impressive given the criticism he has received in the Premier League.
The 32-year-old rejected leaving United this summer, believing he has the best platform to succeed at the World Cup 2026.
He was invited to start in Brazil's qualifying match against Chile, which ended in a 3-0 win.
United's player was directly involved in a disallowed goal for offside but avoided a possible red card for a dangerous foul just before halftime.
LEGEND RETURNS
Nani will make his debut for the Manchester United Legends team this Saturday, when they meet the Celtic Legends in Glasgow.
Brian Robson is managing the team and may feature Nani for the first time.
The popular former Portuguese player recently announced his retirement after a trophy-laden career that ended in Estrela da Amadora.
A four-time Premier League winner is sure to add flair to the attacking positions, just as he did at Soccer Aid a few years ago.
Mikael Silvestre, Michael Carrick, Darren Fletcher, Louis Saha, and Dimitar Berbatov will also participate.

NOT IGNORED
Within just a week, three former United managers have been dismissed.
Hours after Besiktas failed to qualify for the Conference League following a loss in the Europa League, the Turkish club fired Ole Gunnar Solskjaer after just eight months in charge.
The next morning, Fenerbahce parted ways with Jose Mourinho — just two days after their elimination from the Champions League by Benfica in Lisbon.
Notably, all three permanent managers of United are now out of work, and Erik ten Hag was dismissed by Bayer Leverkusen after two months in charge.
At the same time, rumors of a possible dismissal for Amorim are only growing.
Mourinho has also been mentioned as a candidate for a return if Amorim leaves the team, but fans outside Old Trafford were vehemently against this idea ahead of the match against Burnley.
One of them said:
“If we're talking about this, let’s bring back Romelu Lukaku, Paul Pogba and Jesse Lingard.”

Currently, the situation at the club appears tense, and former United managers are seeking new opportunities while the team continues to look for ways to emerge from the crisis under Ruben Amorim's leadership. The support and criticism from fans significantly affect the atmosphere around the club. Time will tell what decisions the United officials will make regarding their future strategy. In the mutual interest of remaining competitive in the Premier League and on the international stage, the club will be forced to make wise and measured decisions. Stay tuned for developments!
