Manchester United sells Antony for 22 million: transfer details.
Manchester United confirms Antony's sale to Real Betis
According to The Sun: Manchester United has reportedly finally reached an agreement to sell Antony to Real Betis.
GettyThe Brazilian returned to his best form in the club from Seville in the second half of last season.
Antony, a 25-year-old footballer, joined Betis on loan in January and found his rhythm again.
This summer he was looking forward to returning to a La Liga club, but negotiations dragged on.
According to The Athletic, an agreement between the clubs was eventually reached.
Reportedly, Manchester United agreed on a sum of 22 million pounds for the winger's release.
Additionally, the club will receive 50% of any future resale, should Antony move to another team.
Manchester United also benefits from the fact that Betis will fully cover the Brazilian's financial costs.
“United will now make no further payment to the player.”
This means that his annual salary of 6 million pounds will no longer be counted in the club's budget.
Antony impressed under the management of former Manchester City and West Ham coach Manuel Pellegrini.
He scored nine goals and provided five assists in 26 matches during his loan spell.
The former Ajax player also helped Betis reach the final of the Conference League, although the team lost 4-1 to Chelsea.
