Manchester United wants to sign Emiliano Martinez: transfer details.
Manchester United searching for a new goalkeeper
According to The Sun: Manchester United is spending the last hours before the transfer window closes searching for a new goalkeeper. The club's management has resumed negotiations with the Belgian club Royal Antwerp regarding 23-year-old goalkeeper Senne Lammens, whose price is estimated at £17 million. Lammens missed the last two matches for Antwerp and has attracted the attention of the Turkish club Galatasaray. However, the player only has one full season in professional football.

Ruben Amorim's team has also approached Aston Villa regarding Emiliano Martinez. Earlier in July, their request to loan the Argentine was rejected. The 32-year-old Martinez was not included in the squad for the match against Crystal Palace, raising rumors about a possible transfer. The goalkeeper's price could be around £40 million, considering his high salary.

Martinez is among the highest-paid players at Villa and has a contract for another five years. He wants to leave the club, and his representatives contacted Manchester United as early as January. The goalkeeper reportedly said goodbye to the fans at the last home match of last season.
Manchester United's goalkeeper difficulties
United's goalkeepers, Bayindir and Andre Onana, have already made several mistakes this season. After the victory over Burnley, Amorim noted:
“It's hard to be a goalkeeper for United at this moment.”
If United can reach an agreement, one of the keepers from this pair will likely leave the club, as Tom Heaton signed a one-year contract in June.
Emery hopes to resolve the situation with Martinez before the window closes, as well as strengthen Villa's squad. In the match against Everton, the goalkeeper was Marco Bizot, who made an error leading to a penalty.
When asked about the situation with Martinez, Emery simply repeated the name:
“Marco Bizot.”
And after the match, he noted:
“This is something we need to rectify with [Martinez] before the window closes. We hope to improve the squad, but we need to stay calm.”
