United took the lead thanks to former Scotland captain Darren Fletcher, and soon doubled their advantage with a long-range strike from Dimitar Berbatov.
However, Celtic managed to equalize by scoring two goals in five minutes thanks to Scott McDonald and Shaun Maloney.
This forced the teams into a penalty shootout, where Joe Hart missed his shot, but successfully saved Darren Gibson's attempt.
Lee Naylor then scored the decisive penalty for Celtic, prompting cheers from the fans.
However, the game was paused in the middle of the second half when one of the fans decided to run onto the pitch.
A man dressed in a gray tracksuit seized the moment and stole the corner flag with Celtic's emblem.
He sprinted along the sideline, dramatically leaped over the barriers, and disappeared into the tunnel, holding the flag as other fans looked on.

Fortunately, this funny moment did not overshadow what turned out to be an excellent game for a good cause.
United stars such as Michael Carrick, Nani, and Louis Saha also came to Scotland. And for Celtic, fan favorites like Artur Boruc, Joe Ledley, and Georgios Samaras received a warm welcome.
All money raised during the match will go to the Celtic FC Foundation, which supports the most vulnerable and disadvantaged in the local community.
