The Portuguese national team announced that Nuno Tavares from Lazio has been called up to replace the right-back.
“Left-back Nuno Tavares has been called up to the A team to replace Diogo Dalot. The international representing Manchester United felt muscle discomfort and was withdrawn by the medical department.”
This injury marks the third for Manchester United in a week as the team prepares for the upcoming Manchester derby after the international break.
United will travel to the rival city to meet Manchester City, who have lost their last two matches. The match will take place on September 14 at the Etihad Stadium.
This comes after Matheus Cunha and Mason Mount were forced off the field during a dramatic 3-2 home victory over Burnley last Saturday.
Cunha, 26, has also withdrawn from the lineup for matches against Chile and Bolivia.
After the match with City, the Red Devils will face Chelsea, Brentford, and Sunderland ahead of the next international matches in October.
Dalot has scored three goals in 29 international matches since his debut in 2021.

Dalot's injury may significantly affect Manchester United's plans as the team faces considerable pressure amidst frequent personnel losses. The absence of a key player before crucial matches may create additional difficulties for coach Ruben Amorim, who aims to elevate the team to a new level. Fans hope for a quick recovery for the defender and his return to the field soon.
