Delays in Marcus Rashford's House Construction

According to The Sun: Marcus Rashford's dream construction is facing delays that could cost him £15 million.

The football ace is investigating why a former golf club, purchased in 2020 for £2.25 million, has yet to be completed after five years of work.

A 63-acre plot is abandoned, as work has come to a halt due to financial disputes.

The Manchester United forward, currently playing in Barcelona, has tasked his financial team with finding out the reasons for the delay and when construction will be completed.

A source said: “Marcus has already spent millions but wants to spend more. There was a dispute in the summer. Recently work resumed, but progress is very slow.”

“He is between a rock and a hard place, as he can't just walk away and leave it. He just wants to get it finished.”

“It all comes down to money. Marcus fears the house will never be worth what he has put into it.”

Rashford dreams of creating his forever home on the site of the golf club, which is conveniently located in the rural outskirts of Cheshire.

The plans included demolishing the club and building a luxury five-bedroom mansion with a covered pool, gym, games room, and relaxation area.

The grounds were also set to feature a separate apartment, landscaped gardens, and charitable programs for local wildlife, including bats, birds, hedgehogs, and newts.

However, the project is delayed due to flooding and rising construction costs, as the initial plans have changed significantly.

Slow progress has raised concerns among Rashford's neighbors, who claim that weeds on the plot could be dangerous.

Roy Baker, 80, the owner of a neighboring farm, said that a man recently came to him 'on behalf of Marcus Rashford and his family.'

He told The Sun: “He said he was resolving land disputes. There is a dispute over costs.”

“I shared my observations about the contractors. He said the costs are just in the millions.”

The exterior of the house is complete, with two underground levels.

But Mr. Baker, who has lived there for 42 years, noted that the house is 'built at the lowest point' — adding that 'the land is boggy.'

“We have a basement, and until 2014 it was dry, but now we have a pump to keep the water out, as the water level has risen.”

Rumors and Neighbor Concerns

He also emphasized the 'extraordinary' costs associated with the project.

“The amount of heavy machinery on the site has been incredible. But there are no signs of completion. No one knows what will come of this.”

“There are many rumors, but I have never seen Rashford here.”

“The costs are staggering, even for someone earning £350,000 a week.”

“We never opposed the planning. We just complained to the site manager as there are so many weeds here.”

“Our concern is that if the land is not maintained, you get various weeds that are hazardous.”

Farmer Roy Baker

“If the weeds flower, their seeds spread across the land.”

“One of the weeds is dangerous for our horses — ragwort.”

It is known that Rashford was told that maintaining the land would cost about £1 million per year.

Another neighboring farmer noted: “It’s not his fault this happened. There must come a time when he questions the costs.”

“His building agent has visited us several times. There is still a lot of land on the site that needs to be moved.”

Renting at £14k

Exclusive from Ryan Party

MARCUS RASHFORD has rented his luxury mansion for £14,000 a month — his friends say he is enjoying life in Barcelona.

The 27-year-old forward is with the La Liga club on loan for one season.

Tenants are also required to pay a £16,000 deposit for the five-bedroom apartment in Wilmslow, Cheshire.

A source reported that the England star has settled well in Spain. They said: “Marcus told his friends that moving to Barcelona is like a breath of fresh air.”

“He is enjoying it immensely and everything that comes with it.”

“He now feels less visible there than he did in Manchester.”

“Our concern is that if the land is not maintained, you get dangerous weeds.”

“We are completely organic, and these weeds are taking over the land.”

Ben Smith, managing director of Noble Projects, which is overseeing the construction, told The Sun: “We have many years of experience delivering prestigious projects for various clients.”

“We are a very professional company and maintain the confidentiality of our clients.”

“Accordingly, we do not discuss project details publicly.”

Rashford's representative denied claims about issues with the project.

Local councils were invited for comments.
