Massive strike on Sumy region: the enemy hit energy facilities.
On the night of September 17, a massive air strike occurred in the Sumy region. An enemy drone attacked objects of the energy system. This was reported by the Sumy regional military administration.
«Enemy «Shaheds» attacked objects of the energy system. Settlements of Konotop, Okhtyrka and Sumy districts were affected», – the statement reads.
Critical infrastructure facilities, such as water utilities and hospitals, were connected to backup power systems.
The air defense forces shot down 16 «Shaheds» over the territory of the region.
Emergency crews are engaged in restoring damaged objects.
Previously, it was reported that after midnight the city of Sumy became the target of a massive air strike, using enemy drones.
It was also reported that late in the evening of September 16, Russian military carried out an air strike on Konotop in the Sumy region using «Shahed» type drones.
Mandatory evacuation is in place in the Sumy region from Hlukhiv, Svesa, and Esman in the Shostka district.
