Large-Scale Investigation into Unbalanced Pricing
A large-scale investigation has been launched into eight retailers and websites, including Wayfair and AA Driving School, over suspiciously inflated prices. The regulatory body — the Competition and Markets Authority (CMA) — has announced a serious campaign against online pricing practices that include "drip pricing" and pressure to buy. According to the agency, they are also sending letters to 100 companies in 14 different sectors to check their prices and compare them with market standards."We will not tolerate unfair pricing practices that can mislead consumers"This campaign reflects growing attention to the issue of pricing policy and consumer rights protection. In times of market instability, it is crucial that buyers can trust the prices they see on online platforms. The investigation is expected to lead to changes in retailers' approaches and improvements for consumers.
