The scale of 'treason' is shocking: how many cases the SBI opened for state treason and collaboration.
According to inkorr.com: During the full-scale invasion of Russia into Ukraine, about 3,000 criminal cases related to state treason and collaboration were opened. Among the subjects of these cases are also current members of parliament who are currently in custody.
Number of cases and information from the SBI
'If we talk about the period of the full-scale invasion and the period of the de-occupation of certain territories - such as Kyiv region, Kharkiv region, Chernihiv region, Kherson region - there are almost 3,000 criminal cases', - said the advisor to the head of the State Bureau of Investigation for communications issues, Tetiana Sapyán.
Sapyán also reported that more than half of these cases are already under consideration in courts. Currently, over 1,200 cases are being reviewed by judicial authorities, and some of them have already received verdicts.
Collaboration with the enemy
'We are talking about judges and law enforcement officers who collaborated with the enemy and helped him to settle in temporarily occupied territories, pointing out where pro-Ukrainian citizens or soldiers who participated in the ATO are located', - explained the advisor to the head of the SBI.
Some collaborators have already received punishment: prison terms reach 14-15 years with property confiscation. Special attention is drawn to cases of detention of current members of parliament for state treason, as reported by Tetiana Sapyán.
'There are even a number of current deputies who went to the territories captured by the enemy and tried to establish contacts with them, and then returned to work in the Verkhovna Rada. Now they are in the pre-trial detention center', - noted the advisor to the head of the SBI.
Court process and effective work of law enforcement agencies
Deputies suspected of state treason are currently going through the court process. These criminal cases confirm the seriousness of the work of law enforcement agencies in bringing to justice those who collaborated with the occupiers in the liberated territories of Ukraine.
Ukrainian law enforcement officers are actively combating instances of state treason and collaboration against the backdrop of the Russian invasion. Court hearings regarding individuals who collaborated with the occupiers demonstrate a serious approach to addressing these crimes and restoring the country's sovereignty.
