The US Team Lost to South Korea 0:2: What Went Wrong in the Friendly Match.
The US Team's Failure in the Match Against Korea
According to The Sun: In the match dedicated to USMNT legend Michael Bradley, the Americans showed that the team is still far from the level they had achieved in the past.
The US men's national team suffered a 0-2 defeat in a friendly match against Korea, continuing their unremarkable play under Mauricio Pochettino.
APDespite the match being held in New Jersey, the atmosphere felt as if USMNT was performing in the very center of Seoul. The number of Korean fans significantly exceeded that of American supporters, who filled the stadium with loud cheers.
This gave the Korean team extra motivation, and in the 18th minute, Son Heung-min opened the scoring, hitting the net of USMNT goalkeeper Matt Freese.
Every touch of the ball by him drew excitement from the stands, further pushing the Koreans forward.
Son had another chance during the first half when, falling to the ground, he passed to his partner Lee Dong-geon, who easily scored the second goal in the 43rd minute with a beautiful move.
The Americans went to halftime utterly helpless, trailing 0-2. USMNT star Christian Pulisic failed to make an impact in the first half of the match.
This match marked his first international appearance after the conflict with Pochettino at the Gold Cup, and it was clear that he was not yet in form. Both teams made several substitutions at the start of the second half, including the Koreans who replaced six players.
Son left the field with two contributions to goals, while Pulisic continued to play. The Americans failed to capitalize on their opportunities, even from close range.

Several minutes before the end of the match, the Americans began to play recklessly, committing many fouls. After the first half, it seemed that Korea's victory was assured when they scored the second goal.
Now US Soccer leadership needs to seriously consider the situation before the World Cup. Although friendly matches still provide opportunities for improvement, the 0-2 defeat to Korea is a worrying sign. This team urgently needs to find its own identity and return to form as soon as possible.
