The new product has the flavor of pineapple and coconut, offering a new, refreshing experience. Typically, the cake is noted for its sweet taste with a hint of ginger.

In the new recipe, the aroma of ginger combines with creamy coconut and bright pineapple. This dessert can be served either warm or cold, making it versatile.

Details of the release

This new flavor is the first variant of Jamaica Ginger Cake since 2009. Catherine Morganroth, the head of McVitie’s marketing department, shared her impressions of the new product:

“We couldn’t be more excited to launch the first new variant of this beloved cake since 2009. This is a bold tropical twist on a classic, combining bright pineapple and soft coconut for a taste that can be compared to a sunny feeling.”

The new product will be available in supermarkets across the UK, including Nisa, Morrisons, Spar, and Heron Foods. Budget stores such as B&M, Home Bargains, and Farmfoods will also offer this product.

Price and other innovations

The recommended retail price is £1.75, and the product has already appeared on the shelves. This news comes after McVitie’s announced the release of two new ice cream flavors based on popular biscuits in the UK.

Among the innovations set to hit stores soon are Jaffa Cakes Tripple Dipped Sticks, as well as Digestives Gold bars in vanilla and caramel flavors. However, these desserts may only be available at The Food Warehouse and Iceland.

The company also introduced a new Jaffa Cake flavor at Tesco - Yuzu lemon, which has already generated significant interest among consumers. One customer wrote on social media:

“OMG New In tesco Jaffa cakes Lemon flavour!!”
Another added:
“Aww didn’t see them when I went today, have to look tomorrow. Sounds a lovely flavour.”

The launch of the new tropical variant of Jamaica Ginger Cake indicates that McVitie’s continues to innovate in its product line, responding to consumer preferences. This may signal promising prospects for the company in expanding its range by introducing new flavors and concepts that grab attention in the market.

Considering consumer reactions to new products, we can expect further additions to McVitie’s product line, given their popularity and recognition. For now, consumers have the opportunity to enjoy new flavors that expand the boundaries of traditional desserts.
