Medals from the 2024 Olympics in France are rusting: athletes in despair.
French swimmers are complaining about the condition of the bronze medals from the 2024 Olympic Games. Their outrage was expressed on social media after noticing wear on the medals just six months after the tournament. In particular, Clément Séguin captioned his photo with the medal with an ironic comment about 'crocodile skin'. Yoann Ndoïe-Breur also noted damage to his medal, adding that it reminds him of the Paris Games of 1924. Other athletes have also complained about the unsatisfactory quality of the medals.
The organizers of the Olympic Games promise to replace the damaged medals for free at the Paris mint. It is worth noting that the gold medals at this year's Games in Paris have a high value due to rising gold prices. A few grams of this precious metal have raised their market value to 900 dollars.
