Ban on transferring medics to the infantry: Zelensky enacted the decision of the National Security and Defense Council.
Zelensky signed a decree regarding countering threats to national security in the healthcare sector
The President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelensky, signed decree No. 817/2024, which enforces the decision of the National Security and Defense Council to counter threats to national security in the healthcare field during a special period.
According to the document, medical personnel are prohibited from being assigned to military positions unrelated to medical practice unless they express a desire to do so. The Cabinet of Ministers has one month to legalize this issue.
The government also needs to review the mechanism for reserving medical personnel. It is planned to lift restrictions on the number of individuals required to serve in the military in state and municipal medical institutions.
The document provides for the implementation of electronic accounting of injured servicemen and electronic record-keeping of medical documentation in military medical institutions. A system of electronic referrals for servicemen to public medical institutions will also be established.
Special attention is given to cybersecurity issues in the healthcare system. The government must develop additional measures to protect patients' personal data from unauthorized access.
