A Wetherspoons pub has opened in former catacombs in London: Here's what the operation looks like.
According to The Sun: Yesterday, the new Wetherspoon pub - The Sun Wharf opened in the area of the former tourist attraction London Dungeons. The renovation cost 2.7 million pounds, and visitors can enjoy the atmosphere while trains race twenty feet above their heads.

The Sun Wharf is one of two new Wetherspoons establishments that opened yesterday; the other is The Sir Alexander Fleming in Paddington. The opening of both pubs creates 170 new jobs, which is a rare piece of good news for the industry, as about one pub in the UK closes daily due to high costs and taxes.
“We have many fans who want to visit all our pubs. For them, the opening of such an establishment is a social event,” commented the chain’s spokesperson, Eddie Gershon.
Among the fans of the novelty is a couple who nearly celebrated their wedding at Wetherspoons, as well as many other regulars. In the last three and a half years, one of them, Dunya Chapman, said: “If I want a gourmet dinner, I go elsewhere, but at Wetherspoons, there's always acceptable food and good beer.”

Dave Williams, a 74-year-old retiree, stated that he started visiting Wetherspoons to improve his health after a leg injury. “I couldn’t walk very far due to muscle cramps, so visiting Wetherspoons became a great hobby to stay fit,” he noted.

The opening of new facilities during tough times raises hopes for a recovery in the industry, which could encourage other businesses to take active measures and steps towards market stability.Read also
