According to The Sun: Michael van Gerwen could not hold back tears when he claimed his first television title in two years, with his little daughter Zoe on stage.

The world number three, 36-year-old Dutchman, defeated Luke Littler 11-7 in the World Series final in Amsterdam.

In the rematch at the World Championship in January, van Gerwen capitalized on Littler’s errors to win five of the last six legs.

Littler, who earned £40,000, commented:
