David Haye on Mike Tyson
According to The Sun: David Haye explained why he does not include Mike Tyson in his top five heavyweight boxers of all time, even though 'Iron Mike' is considered by many to be one of the greatest heavyweights in boxing history.
“Can I put him in the top 5? No, I can't. I'm sure his style is not suited for modern boxing,” Haye noted.
Even despite Tyson's impressive achievements, such as the shocking knockout of Michael Spinks in 91 seconds in the summer of 1988, Haye is convinced that his style does not meet modern requirements.
“I believe only enthusiasts can complain about it, but as an athlete I don't see him at the top”
In Haye's opinion, there are other fighters in modern boxing who deserve more recognition among the top heavyweights.
Haye's criticism of Tyson highlights the changes that have occurred in professional boxing over the years. Modern boxing requires not only physical strength but also versatility and adaptability, so it's important to pay attention to new talents in this discipline.
