The Pension Fund will suspend payments: who must undergo identification by 2025.
According to inkorr.com: Important changes have been introduced in Ukraine's social protection system, which may significantly affect the lives of many people. Now, the Pension Fund is responsible for the appointment and payment of 39 types of social assistance and scholarships. Citizens must confirm their right to receive funds by undergoing mandatory identification. Those who do not manage to do this within the established time frame will be left without payments.
Journalist Iryna Polyakova mentions that the aim of the reform was to simplify the process of receiving social assistance, but in reality, it has led to new difficulties for vulnerable groups of the population.
This is probably some special talent of our rulers... they wanted to do better, but it turned out as usual. Allegedly, the goal was to simplify the receipt of payments, but now many of you must urgently undergo identification at the Pension Fund.
Who must undergo identification
Citizens receiving certain social assistance must undergo identification by October 1, 2025. This applies to those who were appointed assistance after the reform began, but before the full transfer of powers to the Pension Fund.
This category includes people with disabilities from childhood, single mothers, low-income families, and other vulnerable segments of the population.
Consequences of not undergoing identification
If citizens do not confirm their identity within the established time frame, the payment of assistance will be suspended. Although money will be accrued, access to it will be closed until identification is completed.
The Pension Fund offers various methods for undergoing identification, including personal visits to service centers, video calls, and other formats. Citizens can contact the Pension Fund's hotline with any questions.
Thus, as a result of the social protection reform in Ukraine, the Pension Fund is now responsible for the appointment and payment of certain types of social assistance. Citizens must confirm their identity by undergoing identification, otherwise they risk being without financial support. This reform has created new challenges for vulnerable categories of the population who must urgently complete the necessary procedures to receive social assistance.
