The Ministry of Energy dispelled the myth about the heating season starting on November 1.
According to inkorr.com: False rumors have emerged in Ukrainian information networks that the heating season will begin on November 1, 2025. However, the Ministry of Energy of Ukraine assured that this is not true.
An official statement from the Ministry of Energy on October 13, 2025, clarified the situation by revealing the significance of this date.
The government's instructions regarding gas prices from November 1, 2025, should not be perceived as the start of the heating season, as it is only about regulating gas prices. Currently, the start of the heating period is determined by other criteria that are not related to price fixation.
Continuation of regulated tariffs for stability and consumer protection
The government of Ukraine has decided to extend the regulated gas tariffs until March 31, 2026, to support consumers and electricity supply companies. This decision is aimed at maintaining stable gas prices and protecting the population from sharp fluctuations in energy costs.
Regarding the start of the heating season, the Ministry of Energy assures that everything will go according to plan, and the control over this process has been left to local authorities. Heating will only begin after the average daily temperature in the region consistently drops below +8°C for three days.
Consumers need to understand that the question of the start of the heating season and the gas price are different aspects of state regulation. The government's decision to extend regulated gas tariffs aims to support the population and enterprises in the energy sector, ensuring reliability and security of consumption.
Thus, it is important to follow official government announcements to avoid being influenced by false rumors. Clear price regulation and control over the start of the heating season will help maintain stability in the energy market and ensure comfort for Ukrainian consumers in the cold months.
