Over the past five years, the minimum wage has risen to 8,647 hryvnias, while the subsistence minimum has increased to 3,209 hryvnias. How has the minimum wage evolved over the last five years? In 2021, it reached 6,000 hryvnias. At the start of 2022, it was set at 6,500 hryvnias, before being raised to 6,700 hryvnias in the autumn of that year. The rate remained unchanged throughout 2023. In early 2024, the minimum wage increased first to 7,100 hryvnias and subsequently to 8,000 hryvnias.

What about the subsistence level? By the end of 2021, it stood at 2,393 hryvnias. From the beginning of 2022, it grew to 3,209 hryvnias. According to projections, Ukraine's forecasted subsistence minimums for 2026 are as follows:

• For children under 6 years old – 2,817 hryvnias,
• For children aged 6 to 18 – 3,512 hryvnias,
• For able-bodied persons – 3,328 hryvnias,
• For persons who have lost their ability to work – 2,595 hryvnias.
