Minimum Income Amounts - Which Earnings Are Taxed in 2025.
Ukrainians are aware of the necessity of paying taxes. However, there are many exceptions to consider before worrying about the taxation of their income.
Which Income Is Not Taxed
Article 165 of the Tax Code of Ukraine defines cases when certain funds are not taken into account when calculating the total taxable income. These may include social assistance, alimony, pensions, inheritance, and others.
Some incomes are only taxed if they exceed a certain limit. For example, gifts are taxed if their value exceeds 25% of the minimum wage - in 2025, this is 2,000 UAH. Gifts of lesser value are exempt from taxation.
- charitable assistance - over 4,240 UAH/year;
- tuition payment - over three minimum wages, specifically 24,000 UAH/month;
- scholarship - over 4,240 UAH/month;
- sale of products - 12 minimum wages for crop production (96,000/year), 50 minimum wages for animal husbandry (400,000/year).
Money transfers from close relatives, transactions between one's own bank cards, and debt repayments with a written acknowledgment are also not taxed. However, tax must be paid on the amount exceeding the debt if it is interest.
What Else Is Important to Know
Currently, inheritance from closest relatives is not taxed, but property from other persons is. In the case of foreigners, the rate increases to 18%.
Also, individual entrepreneurs should audit their activities in 2025 to avoid tax issues.
