New compensation program for farmers
The Ministry of Economy, Environment and Agriculture has launched a new funding distribution plan within a program that provides for a 25% compensation of the cost of Ukrainian agricultural machinery and equipment. The agency emphasizes that this project is being implemented within the framework of the 'Made in Ukraine' initiative aimed at developing domestic producers. In July, farmers submitted applications for partial compensation of the cost of almost a thousand units of agricultural machinery and equipment. The list of purchases includes products from all 160 participating manufacturers. The program stimulates additional demand for all enterprises: from large factories to sole proprietors operating legally and having at least 60% of Ukrainian content in their products. This means new jobs, timely tax payments, and support for related industries. The machinery covered by the program includes various types of harrows, farm equipment, drip irrigation systems, conveyors, seeders, grain dryers, grain spreading machines, vacuum semi-trailers-tanks, and others. Under the current phase of the program, which lasts from December 2024 to July 2025, farmers have already purchased 5,256 units of agricultural machinery and equipment for a total amount of UAH 3.7 billion (including VAT), receiving compensation from the state in the amount of UAH 777.9 million. The Ministry also reminded that a 25% compensation of the cost (excluding VAT) is available for machinery and equipment with at least 60% Ukrainian content. For some categories, such as combines, tractors, self-propelled sprayers, and grain trucks, special conditions have been introduced. In 2024, 5,311 units of machinery were purchased under the compensation program for an amount exceeding UAH 4.2 billion, and the state compensated almost UAH 877 million. Thus, the new compensation program is aimed at supporting Ukrainian producers of agricultural machinery and equipment, actively promoting the development of domestic production. The compensation program not only strengthens support for the agricultural sector but also creates opportunities for most producers in Ukraine. It applies to both large agricultural companies and small enterprises operating legally, fostering regional development and creating new jobs.
