The Ministry of Defense is purchasing life-saving body armor for Marines: how this will change operations at sea.
According to inkorr.com: The Ministry of Defense of Ukraine has started purchasing body armor equipped with buoyancy elements. This innovation is intended for use by Naval Forces and special operations units in aquatic environments. These vests reduce risks and increase the safety of servicemen during maritime operations.
New features of the body armor
'A special module allows the vest to transform into a rescue device upon contact with water, capable of keeping a serviceman in full gear, individual protective equipment, weapons, and full ammunition afloat. This reduces risks for personnel during operations at sea or in areas with water obstacles.'
Military officials emphasized that this step is necessary to enhance the safety of servicemen while carrying out their tasks.
The introduction of the new body armor will be an important step in preparing Ukrainian military personnel to perform specific tasks at sea. Considering the growing threats in aquatic environments, such innovations can significantly improve the effectiveness of unit actions and provide reliable protection for fighters.
