The Ministry of Defense has approved a reintegration plan for those released from captivity: three stages.
Approval of the reintegration procedure for servicemen
According to inkorr.com: The Ministry of Defense of Ukraine has adopted a procedure for conducting reintegration measures for released servicemen. These measures are aimed at the comprehensive recovery of military personnel after returning from captivity.
'The goal of the reintegration measures is the full post-isolation recovery of the released serviceman, his physical and mental health, optimal work capacity and social activity as a prerequisite for returning to the performance of official duties,' the Ministry of Defense reported.
Stages of reintegration
The reintegration process includes three stages. In the preparatory stage, centers and reintegration teams are formed. The main stage has two phases: meeting the released personnel at the exchange point, medical examination, and documentation of signs of torture. The additional stage provides for the recovery of servicemen in specialized medical institutions.
'The document guarantees released defenders the right to respect for dignity, confidentiality, voluntary participation in activities, and protection from re-traumatization,' the military department noted.
Composition of the reintegration team
The implementation of reintegration measures is ensured by a specially created team, which includes a leader, debriefers, military psychologists, and social workers. All team members undergo special training dedicated to reintegration issues and post-isolation support.
After the completion of the main reintegration measures and returning to military service, released servicemen will receive post-isolation support for 12 months.
The Ministry of Defense has approved the Procedure for the recovery of released servicemen, which clearly regulates the reintegration process after their return from captivity. This will ensure full physical and psychological recovery, as well as preparation for the performance of official duties. Reintegration involves a set of measures in three stages: preparatory, main, and additional, aimed at creating optimal conditions for the recovery of the psycho-physical state of military personnel after the experience of captivity.
