In August 2025, residents of the Poltava region can apply for international multi-purpose cash assistance from the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR). Registration for some families with children has been opened by the charitable foundation 'Right to Protection', which is a partner of the organization. The press service of the organization's representatives reported this in their Telegram channel.
Who will be eligible for payments in Poltava
UNHCR accepts applications from two categories of citizens affected during the war in the Poltava region. It concerns a one-time cash assistance of 3,600 UAH per month per person for three months. The funds will be paid in a single installment. Applications are accepted from forcibly displaced families with children who changed their place of residence in the last six months, as well as citizens who returned home from abroad and have not received cash assistance from international organizations in the last three months. Assistance is provided if Ukrainians meet the following vulnerability criteria: - faced financial difficulties (income does not exceed 5,400 UAH per person in the family); - a single-parent family with minor children/elderly persons; - the household consists only of pensioners raising minors; - there are persons in the family diagnosed with severe illnesses or persons with disabilities. 'Individuals who received cash assistance from international organizations as IDPs (and more than three months have passed since receiving) and returned to their permanent residence in Ukraine or abroad after being forcibly displaced due to military actions can apply if they are vulnerable,' the organizers explained. How to apply for financial assistance
According to UNHCR, applications for financial assistance can be submitted by filling out a special online form. Registration occurs only by prior appointment in the electronic queue. 'We remind you that there is currently no live queue, and we are processing what is available. For consultation inquiries, you can contact the UNHCR hotline specialists - 0800 307 711,' they added in the organization. In August 2025, residents of the Poltava region will have the opportunity to receive financial assistance from UNHCR if they meet certain vulnerability criteria and have lost the ability to provide for themselves during the war in the region. The special fund 'Right to Protection' has opened registration for families with children, allowing them to receive assistance from a large community.Read also
