A "gatehouse" house in London is for sale for a million pounds: what's inside.
Discussion on the unusual price of a house in East London
According to The Sun: In an area where everything is 'overpriced', the price of a two-bedroom house in East London has caused outrage among neighbors.
The house has a red cedar exterior and a sloped roof reminiscent of a child's 'Wendy house', yet its cost is £980,000.

The real estate agency Dexters presented the architecturally designed house on Scoble Place as 'impressively unique and notable'.
One neighbor expressed her outrage at such a price:
“The price is ridiculous, I certainly won't buy it,”- she shared in an interview with MyLondon.
Another resident, Fatu Gasama, noted that she was not surprised by such a high price:
“This is Hackney, so it will always be expensive,”- she said, adding,
“My neighbor sold his one-bedroom flat for £360,000. Everything here is overpriced.”
One of the residents of the same street defended the high price and style of the house, emphasizing:
“It is completely different from the neighboring streets, it is my favorite place to live,”- she added.
The house was initially offered for over £1 million in July, but the price was later slightly reduced. Now, more than two months later, the house is still for sale.
This house has two double bedrooms, a modern bathroom, an open kitchen, and a living room with a terrace and private garden.
The real estate agency emphasized its proximity to 'a multitude of green spaces; Hackney Downs, London Fields with its famous lido and vibrant Broadway Market'.
The average price of a house in Hackney was £586,000 in June of this year, down from £620,000 in June 2024.
However, shocking housing prices in London remain a central issue.
This is not the first instance where a high price for a small house has become a topic of discussion. For example, a house in Clapton, located between two buildings and recognized as 'the smallest house in Britain', cost half a million pounds last year.

The house has been on sale since July 2025.
The situation with high property prices in the UK remains a relevant topic for discussion. Local residents are experiencing changes in pricing policies affecting housing, which impacts their daily lives. Property owners must consider the purchasing power of the population amidst economic uncertainty.
