In the capital of Libya, Tripoli, heavy clashes occurred between armed groups after the assassination of militia leader Abdul Ghani al-Kikli, known as Geneva. This triggered reinforcements arriving from various cities and the evacuation of planes from Mitiga Airport due to the threat of shelling.
Pilgrimage to Fatima
Meanwhile, around 270,000 pilgrims from around the world gathered in Fatima for the annual prayer, hoping for peace and the blessing of the newly elected Pope Leo XIV. The participants of the pilgrimage expressed hopes that the new Pope would continue the humanity and sincerity of his predecessor.
