New dishes in the assortment
New sandwiches, wraps, and bagels from the popular retailer have already appeared on supermarket shelves. This is an entirely new section in the product line of Marks & Spencer.
The products are marked as NEW in the freezer sections of supermarkets, with bright signs saying 'CHOOSE ME! I JUST ARRIVED'.
Among the main novelties this month is the chicken tikka sandwich, which has “returned due to popular demand”. This sandwich features a “creamy” mildly spicy marinated chicken breast, wrapped in “soft malted” bread with onion seeds.
“This sandwich is generously filled and rich in flavor.”
The price for it is £4; it is a limited edition.
Another new item is the butter chicken wrap, which has become part of the new collection. It is a “summer editing” of the retailer's dining option featuring “juicy British chicken and luxurious creamy butter chicken sauce, complemented by crunchy spinach, tangy pickled red onion, and crisp cabbage”.
New bagels and sandwiches
Among the new bagels is a New York-style bagel with pastrami and a classic bagel with smoked salmon. The American delicacy in the form of a “Reuben” has layers of pastrami beef, pickles, mustard, and cream cheese.
Additionally, the “Katsu Sando” costs £5 at M&S. This sandwich is also part of the “summer editing” and contains breaded chicken, mayonnaise with katsu sauce, pickled cabbage, and coriander.
“Katsu Sando is a delicious meal that is sweet, spicy, and satisfying.”
The sandwich also includes a sauce made with honey and soy ketchup, all housed in soft brioche-style bread.
New “lunch sensations” are already available in M&S Foodhalls and are just part of the store's best selections this month.
History of M&S
M&S was founded in 1884 by Michael Marks and Thomas Spencer in Leeds. The first official Marks and Spencer store opened in Manchester in 1901. During the 1920s, M&S rapidly grew, opening more and more stores across the country. The retailer gained a reputation in the early 20th century for selling only British goods and began selling textiles in 1926 and groceries from 1931.
With the St Michael brand introduced in 1928, M&S ensured quality and value in its products. The first in-store cafe opened in 1935. By the start of World War II, M&S had 234 stores, some of which were damaged and destroyed by bombs. In 1960, the company began selling fresh poultry.
Today, M&S announced new store openings and updates to existing ones, which is positive news for shoppers.
