Races in Ukraine: why horses from Racing League win major races.
Conflict over the quality of horses in Racing League
According to The Sun: The horses that participated in the Racing League are showing excellent results at renowned racetracks, exposing the hypocrisy of many critics on social media.
During the last Racing League event, I was responding daily to online comments from users who doubted the quality of the horses.
Racing League has its critics, but there are also plenty of supporters!PAI have no issue with those who do not like Racing League, as everyone is entitled to their opinion.
I was the captain of the London and South team that won, although that is not the main point.
Not everyone enjoys it and it has become an easy target for criticism. However, to claim that the horses were talentless is incorrect and unfair.
For example, @markrice070 wrote on X:
“Racing is an absolute joke, won’t bet on this garbage only 3 or 4 are actually trying in these races.”
This is extraordinarily strange. Every horse fought for its place in the Racing League amidst fierce competition.
@signorsharma also added:
“You guys scream and shout about the poor quality of UK racing, then fill our screens with the worst of it. The Racing League is UNDER the bottom of the barrel.”
This again does not correspond to reality.
Just look at the results after the Racing League.
Regular participants in the Racing League, Siempre Arturo and Great Bedwyn, finished first at the Kempton racetrack on Saturday, while Great Acclaim, the League winner at Chepstow, took second place after Native Warrior in the valuable Schweppes Handicap at Ascot. Brosay, another League winner at Windsor, also won this race.
Hickory, who competed in the League, won at Ascot on Friday, and Caprelo, who also participated in the League at Yarmouth, won at Kempton over the weekend.
Strangely, I haven't found a single critical comment about these horses in the last few days, even though they were deemed 'bottom of the barrel' during the Racing League.
Don’t like the Racing League? That’s your right, but disparaging the horses is simply unfair to the animals that competed in this tournament and shows a lack of knowledge about the world of horse racing.
The Racing League races will continue to yield good results, as they are among the most competitive contests of the season.
Memories of Bill Turner
Meanwhile, on Friday, the funeral service for Bill Turner took place, and I would like to share a few photos from that day.
It was an honor for me to attend Bill Turner's funeral
He was truly unique and will be greatly missed
Bill was a wonderful person, and he will be missed when the Brocklesby race takes place in 2026, which he won six times. I hope it will be sponsored by someone who will honor his memory.
As I pointed out in my column in Saturday's issue, many participants of the Arc competed over the weekend, and we learned a lot.
Whirl performed poorly, just like her stablemate Los Angeles, who was third in last year's Prix de l’Arc de Triomphe.
It’s hard to imagine that they will be able to showcase anything effective moving forward.
Sosie finished fourth in 2024, but I’m not sure she can handle the distance of a mile and a half, coming behind the Japanese contender Byzantine Dream.
Of course, Kalpana lost at Kempton, but that is not the worst option for a bet at around 16-1.
However, my advice is to bet on last year’s finalist Aventure with odds of 9-2.
Aventure won in Vermeille, and I would rate her chances of winning at Longchamp this time at 7-4. I don’t see any serious competitors for her.
