Outrage from the Resident Over a Wall Blocking Sea View

According to The Sun: Resident Liz Bates expressed her outrage – developers built an 8-foot concrete wall that blocked her view of the sea.

Liz had been enjoying the beautiful view of Poole Bay from her ground floor apartment balcony in Bournemouth.

But nearby her home, in the prestigious area of Southbourne, this unsightly concrete wall appeared, intended to provide privacy for a new terrace situated in front of her apartment.

The height of the wall has sparked controversy, as Liz claims that proper permission was not obtained for this construction.

“Our home is only six meters from the construction,” said Liz.

Liz, 42 years old, accused the company Vivir Estates of "sheer arrogance" and noted that now, with the wall already built, it will be difficult to force them to remove it.

She fears that new residents may be able to see into her home, and construction starts at 7:15 in the morning.

Liz even considered selling her apartment, although she has lived there for over ten years. However, she was told this would not be possible as the construction has lowered the value of her property.

“About two months ago, fittings appeared at the front of our house. I asked the builders what it was for, and they replied that it was for the terrace wall,” she added.

“Losing the view is bad, but our privacy has also been completely destroyed.”

Vivir Estates submitted a 'minor amendment' to its original construction application that does not significantly change the project or its impact.

Liz believes that the wall does not meet the definition considering how it will affect her family life.

As of now, two four-storey blocks of luxury apartments are being built on the site of a former parking lot in front of 24 existing homes. The local council was initially against this project, but ultimately granted permission despite strong opposition from residents.

Real estate agents estimate that this construction could decrease property prices in the area by up to £50,000.

Representatives of Vivir Estates assure that this development will increase property values in the neighborhoods.

Liz emphasizes that the wall will negatively impact her family, and her outrage continues due to the ways in which the construction is being carried out.
