Coach leaves Brentford

According to The Sun: Former Manchester United coach Martin Drury plans to leave Brentford two months after starting his job.

Drury became the assistant head coach in July when Keith Andrews replaced Thomas Frank in this position.

According to BBC, Drury is leaving the Gtech Community Stadium after three matches in the new season.

The reasons for his departure are still unclear, as it is unknown what led to this decision.

The coach joined Brentford in the offseason after six months at Valencia under Carlos Corberan.

Previously, he worked at United and West Bromwich.

Drury had been the academy coach at United since 2022, and joined Albion in August 2024.

His departure coincides with Brentford's decline, which is in 15th place in the table after the team lost two of its first three matches of the new campaign.

Additionally, the team lost coach Frank, who moved to Tottenham, and star striker Yoane Wissa remained at Newcastle as a replacement for Alexander Isak.

However, the 'Bees' signed winger Reiss Nelson from Arsenal on loan for the season.

Andrews noted:

“Reiss has the skills to complement the other attacking players we have. He is a dribbler and feels very comfortable with the ball at his feet. I value his Premier League experience and understanding of the league, as well as his age profile. He is entering the prime years of his career and has shown a real desire to come here despite significant interest from other clubs.”

Drury's departure underscores Brentford's instability this current season. The team, which has undergone several difficult changes, is trying to find the right balance to improve results and get back in the race for top positions. New signings like Reiss Nelson could be key to restoring the club's success.
