In Ukraine, there are two job vacancies for each unemployed person: reasons for the deficit.
According to inkorr.com: The State Employment Service reported that at the beginning of August, 241,000 job offers were published on the Unified Job Portal, while 132,000 people applied to the service for job searching.
According to the Employment Service, each job seeker using the state service has an average of two vacancies. This year, the highest demand is observed in the fields of sales, transportation, gastronomy, technical specialties, accounting, medicine, administration, installation, and electrical installation.
In general, the shortage of labor is caused by two main reasons: military actions in the country and significant changes in the economy.
The State Employment Service has found jobs for 132,000 people, which averages two vacancies per candidate. Among the job seekers are both those with higher education and those who have obtained vocational-technical diplomas.
Reasons for the labor shortage
The Employment Service emphasized that military actions in the country complicate the job search for those who previously held predominantly male professions. Changes in the economy lead to structural unemployment due to the lack of relevant skills among candidates to fill open vacancies.
Another issue is regional imbalance. For example, in Kyiv, there are 24 vacancies for each job seeker, while in the Lviv region, there are only 4 vacancies, and in the Mykolaiv region, the number of job seekers is twice the number of available offers.
According to data from the State Employment Service, over 240,000 vacancies have been recorded on the Unified Job Portal. However, the number of people looking for work is significantly lower. Finding a job is becoming increasingly difficult due to military conflicts, internal political problems, as well as rapid economic changes in the country.
Against this background, it is important to note that the job market situation remains complicated due to the combination of factors in the form of military actions and economic challenges. This requires government institutions to activate efforts to improve the qualifications of the population and adapt educational programs to the needs of the market. The search for new jobs within the country may become even more relevant in the near future.Read also
