In Ternopil region, the court sentenced a woman who tortured her grandson due to an unlearned prayer.
A resident of Ternopil region, who tortured her grandson for failing to learn a prayer, received a one-year suspended sentence. This decision was made by the Kremenets District Court. Information about this is provided by Zaxid.net.
The incident occurred on September 18, 2022. On that day, the woman forced her young grandson to learn a prayer, but due to his age and mental limitations, he was unable to do so. Because of this, the woman began torturing the boy. She inflicted numerous bruises using nettle, inserted a stick into his mouth, and choked him for several minutes.
In court, the woman admitted her guilt and promised that this would not happen again. The court, taking into account the woman's health problems, sentenced her to a one-year suspended sentence. She also has to undergo a three-month program for offenders and pay more than 18,000 hryvnias for various court-ordered examinations.

Also, according to the deputy head of the Kyiv City State Administration, Marina Khonda, the number of cases of violence against children in Kyiv has increased. Surveys of children who have become victims of violence or witnesses to it increased by 3.5 times compared to last year.
Moreover, in Kyiv, a 42-year-old local was sentenced to two years in prison for domestic violence against his wife and five children.
