Dollar Hits 44.5 UAH as National Bank Raises Rate: Could 50 Hryvnia Be on the Horizon by Year-End?.

According to Novyny.live: On June 9, 2023, Ukraine's National Bank adjusted the official dollar rate upward to 44.5129 UAH per USD, marking an increase of 0.15 UAH from the previous day. Meanwhile, most commercial banks were selling the dollar above the 45 UAH threshold. The average bank rate for that date stood at 44.95 UAH for selling and 44.45 UAH for buying.
In the morning of June 9, private currency exchange points offered the dollar at 44.55 UAH for purchase and 44.40 UAH for sale. By midday, the rate had climbed to 44.79 UAH for selling and 44.56 UAH for buying. Around 3:00 PM, the dollar was trading at 44.80 UAH for sale and 44.64 UAH for purchase.
Expert Outlook
Analyst Ruslan Chornyi warned that Ukraine's dollar exchange rate could see a significant rise by the end of 2025, potentially surpassing the 50 UAH mark. He also offered praise for the country's economic management, stating that

However, he cautioned that 'any serious escalation on the front lines could quickly impact the currency market.'
