A balloon from the DPRK exploded over the residence of the South Korean leader. At this time, he was meeting with Duda.
Explosion of a balloon with garbage in Seoul
A balloon filled with garbage and propaganda leaflets, launched from North Korea, exploded over the residence of the South Korean president in Seoul. The security service reported that no dangerous items were found. This is the first incident of North Korea using a balloon to distribute leaflets, as they previously sent balloons with garbage.
The President of Poland, Andrzej Duda, was also in Seoul at this time. Leaders of both countries condemned North Korea for developing nuclear weapons and provocations, as well as for illegal military cooperation with Russia. South Korea warned North Korea of potential military action if they continue launching balloons across the border.
Balloons have become a problem for Seoul and its surroundings, as North Korean military fill them with garbage and other nuisances.
