Naftogaz will disconnect gas for the smallest debts: new rules for Ukrainians.
The Ukrainian gas transportation company 'Naftogaz Ukraine', which serves 98% of consumers in the country, is introducing new approaches to dealing with debtors. Now even the smallest debts can lead to the termination of gas supply to the homes of Ukrainians. This is reported by journalist Irina Polyakova.
Strict rules for debtors
According to inkorr.com: The company 'Naftogaz Ukraine' is tightening its requirements for consumers with debts. Now even the smallest debts can lead to gas disconnection. This is a significant change in debt management, as previously small amounts did not provoke serious measures. The new rules involve more thorough monitoring of consumer payments.
The main criterion for disconnection will be the overdue period of the debt, not its size. Consumers need to adhere to clearly established payment deadlines: for gas distribution by the 20th of the month, and for gas supply by the 25th of the following month. If deadlines are violated by more than 10 days, gas suppliers will have the right to disconnect gas to the consumer's premises.
Disconnection procedure
Importantly, gas disconnection will only occur after notification. According to lawyer Yuri Aivazyan, consumers will receive written notice of the planned disconnection 10 days in advance. This document will detail the reason for disconnection, the amount of debt, and the date of disconnection, allowing people to settle their financial obligations before disconnection.
Conclusions
Thus, 'Naftogaz Ukraine' is introducing new rules for debtors, where the main criterion for disconnection will be the overdue payment period. Strengthened control over payment discipline means that even minor debts can lead to serious consequences for gas consumers.
The changes in the rules are determined by the need to maintain the stability of gas supply in the country, especially in the face of modern economic challenges. Consumers should pay attention to the timing of their payments to avoid unpleasantness with disconnection.
