Rules for Military Disability Benefits Changed: How the ECOPO works Now.

A serviceman of the Armed Forces of Ukraine who wishes to undergo an expert commission to assess their condition must first submit a report to the unit commander. After that, they will be given the opportunity to visit a hospital where they will receive a referral for the ECOPO.

This was reported by the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine.

Ukraine has undergone changes in the medical examination of citizens. Thus, the MSEC system - the medical and social expert commissions have been dismantled, and ECOPOs have been introduced - expert commissions for assessing an individual's daily functioning.

To obtain the respective status and disability group, a citizen must receive a conclusion from the ECOPO.

What is ECOPO

The Ministry of Defense of Ukraine explained that a serviceman needs to submit a report to the commander of the military unit to undergo the ECOPO. The commander must give permission for the service member to leave the unit so that they can visit a healthcare facility to receive an electronic referral for the ECOPO.
