Russia has no real successes on the front: ISW on the situation as of January 11.
According to ТСН: The Russian army continues its offensive actions on the front line, but on January 10-11, it failed to achieve significant successes. The main efforts of the aggressor are focused on storming actions in the Donetsk region and pressure in the Kupyansk area, where fierce battles continue, but the front line remains unchanged.
At the same time, Ukrainian troops are effectively holding back the enemy's pressure and striking at its rear. This information is provided by the analytical report of the Institute for the Study of War (ISW).
Situation at the frontline
In the Kharkiv direction, the enemy is attacking northeast of Kharkiv, in the areas of Prylypky, Lyman, Vovchansk, Vilchy, Vovchanski Khutory and Hrafskyi, as well as near Velykyi Burluk and Dvorichanske. However, no advancement along the front line has been registered.
It is also worth noting attempts by Russian units to infiltrate in the southern part of Podoliv, which is more of an infiltration than a change in the front line.
The Russians are attacking from several directions towards Kupyansk, but Ukrainian forces are holding positions north of the city and on the eastern bank of the Oskil River, preventing the enemy from forcing it. According to preliminary data, 50 to 60 Russian servicemen remain in Kupyansk.
In the Borivka direction, Russian troops have managed to make slight advancements to the west of Ridkodub, south of Borova, but attacks near Bohuslavka, Zahryzov, Hrekivka, Karpivka, and other settlements continue without results.
Importantly! The Armed Forces of Ukraine struck a Russian Buk-M3 air defense system in Luhansk Oblast, causing its ammunition to detonate.
In Donetsk Oblast, Russian forces attempted to advance towards Sloviansk and Lyman. Fighting is taking place near Lyman, Yampil, Zarichne, Drobyshiv, Stavyk, and Zakittne.
According to Ukrainian command, the enemy has intensified its efforts, trying to advance in small groups, but significant results have not been achieved. Problems in management and moral condition of certain Russian units have been noted.
In the area of Kostiantynivka and Druzhkivka, Russian troops had limited advancement, particularly in eastern Kostiantynivka. Intense fighting continues on the outskirts of the city and near Chasiv Yar, Pleshchiyivka, and Ivanopillia. The enemy is actively using FPV drones to strike Ukrainian positions, equipment, and drones.
In the Dobropillya direction, Russian attacks in Kucherovyi Yar, Shakhtove, Toretske, and Zapovidne have not yielded results. The situation is similar in the Novopavlivka direction, where fighting continues near Filiia and approaches to Novopavlivka without confirmation of advancement.
In Pokrovsk, Russian troops managed to advance in the northern part of the city in areas previously controlled by sabotage and reconnaissance groups. Fighting is taking place both in Pokrovsk itself and on its flanks – in the areas of Rodynske, Myrnohrad, Kotlyne, and Udachne. Ukrainian troops note a high activity of enemy drones, complicating logistics, but they use electronic warfare and counter-drone solutions.
In the Southern direction, particularly in the area of Hulyaipole, Russian troops made limited advancement in the northwestern and central parts of the city, as well as west of Pryluky. The enemy is intensifying its offensive efforts, transferring additional units, including airborne troops. In the western part of Zaporizhzhia Oblast, local advancement of Russians has been recorded in the area of the mouth of the Kinka River, although information about the capture of settlements remains unverified.
In the Kherson direction, Russian troops continue limited attacks in the area of the Antonivskyi Bridge without changing the front line. In response, Ukrainian forces struck the supply depot of the 49th Army of Russia in the temporarily occupied part of Kherson Oblast.
We remind you that the occupiers are using a new tactic in the Kramatorsk direction: the enemy tries to advance in small groups of up to five people, especially at night and during worsening weather conditions.
The news discusses the current military actions on the front in Ukraine. The main emphasis is placed on the activity of Russian troops in several important directions, as well as on the resilience of Ukrainian forces in repelling attacks. It is important to understand that the situation at the front remains complex; however, the Ukrainian side continues to take into account new challenges, including the use of new enemy tactics. Active battles and attacks from both sides indicate that the conflict continues, and its consequences affect the military and political situation in the region.Read also
