Natalkа Didenko: why folk weather signs no longer work.
According to inkorr.com: Folk signs known from childhood, such as predicting rain by the flight of swallows or cold by a cat's behavior, have long been part of cultural heritage.
Regarding whether they can be trusted in the 21st century, renowned Ukrainian meteorologist Natalkа Didenko explained in her new video on the YouTube channel 'Weather with Natalkа Didenko' why ancient methods of weather forecasting have lost their relevance.
Modern Weather and Signs
Modern scientific achievements and technologies have significantly diminished the value of traditional folk signs. They have become less relevant due to global climate change, the specifics of the country's geographical position, and the fast pace of life. As Natalkа Didenko notes, these signs remain only as interesting remnants of the past that have no influence on modern weather forecasts.
Modern meteorology is based on numerous scientific factors and contemporary technologies that provide much more accurate weather forecasts. Although folk signs can be an interesting part of cultural heritage, their impact on actual meteorological conditions has greatly diminished. The advantages of modern forecasting methods have allowed people to better prepare for changes in the weather, particularly during extreme events.Read also
