NATO guarantees security for Ukraine: results of Rutte's visit to Kyiv
According to FREEДOM: The NATO Secretary General stated during a joint press conference with the President of Ukraine in Kyiv that Ukraine, the USA, and European countries are working on a system of security guarantees that will prevent further Russian aggression. The main topic of discussions was security for Ukraine and support for the Ukrainian army.
The NATO Secretary General emphasized that Ukraine's path to NATO is irreversible and visited a Ukrainian drone production facility, supporting the development of innovations in this field. The leaders discussed the possibility of strengthening the Armed Forces of Ukraine by purchasing weapons from the USA under the PURL program, which has already attracted significant financial resources.
'We have command in Wiesbaden to provide the necessary support to the Ukrainian military from NATO, including arms procurement and lethal systems. We are also actively working to ensure training for the Armed Forces of Ukraine and enhancing their combat readiness,' the Secretary General explained.
Zelensky and Rutte agreed on future security guarantees for Ukraine, emphasizing the need for funding the Ukrainian army and providing it with weapons and combat vehicles. Washington expressed readiness to participate in security guarantees for Ukraine, highlighting the importance of Europe's role in this process.
Discussions on issues such as financial support, intelligence, and military coordination indicate NATO and its partners' determination to support Ukraine in ensuring the security and defense of the country.
