According to inkorr.com: The banking services sector in Ukraine has undergone significant changes in the area of transferring funds to cards. Starting from 2025, the rules have become more flexible, sparking lively discussions among users.
Regulatory changes in transfers
Cancellation of regulatory restrictions by the NBU
Limits on card transfers were lifted from April 1, 2025, after the temporary introduction of restrictions. However, from June of the same year, banks introduced a new limit of 100 thousand hryvnias per month.
Risk assessment and transfers
Client risk assessment system
After the limits were lifted, restriction systems were also reviewed based on the level of risk. Now clients with medium and low risk can transfer up to 100 thousand hryvnias per month.
Features of transfers between cards
Transfers within a single bank have no restrictions, but interbank transactions are subject to general requirements.
New agreement and expert advice
Memorandum on transparency
The new rules are the result of an agreement between leading banks, concluded in December 2024, allowing changes to be implemented independently of the National Bank of Ukraine.
Expert recommendations for managing transfers
Experts warn Ukrainians against large operations, advising to confirm the source of funds and to keep an eye on changes in legislation.
Changes in the regulation of bank transfers can significantly affect the availability of financial services for the population. Consumers have gained more opportunities for making money transfers but should not forget about the risks and the need to verify the source of funds in case of large transactions. Attention to changes in legislation will remain important for all participants in the financial market.
