Not only electricity: Ukrainians warned about possible gas price increase as early as 2025.
NKREKP to consider increasing tariffs for natural gas transportation
The National Commission for State Regulation in the Energy and Utilities Sectors (NKREKP) intends to consider a draft resolution that provides for a change in tariffs for natural gas transportation for LLC "GTS Operator of Ukraine" for the period 2025-2029.
This was reported by the head of the Union of Utility Consumers Oleg Popenko.
According to the published draft, a significant increase in tariffs is anticipated. Tariffs for entry and exit through international points of the Ukrainian gas transmission system (GTS) could double, while for internal points, the increase could reach four times.
"This initiative takes into account a possible scenario in which Ukraine will not transport Russian gas through its territory already from the next year," noted Oleg Popenko.
Such changes will be an important step in the development of the Ukrainian gas market and the reduction of dependency on gas imports from Russia. However, they may affect gas prices for consumers, which could become a challenge for citizens. The situation requires careful analysis and discussion among all interested parties.
