Fines for companies for not paying minimum wage
According to The Sun: About 500 companies have found themselves under public criticism for not paying their workers' wages and have received fines totaling £10.2 million. Among the recently publicly condemned enterprises are the owner of British Gas, Centrica, EG Group, and Holland & Barrett.
The Minister pointed out that companies have no right to neglect their workers, and called on all employers to comply with wage legislation.
The government emphasized that it is actively working to strengthen control in this area to ensure the protection of workers' rights across the country.
This situation indicates the government's serious approach to safeguarding workers' rights and fighting wage fraud. Fines for companies can serve as a powerful signal to other employers about the need to comply with labor legislation and treat their employees properly.
