“Neutral? Shoot!”. Ukrainian National Team Doctor Held an Emotional Protest at the Olympics.
The Doctor of Ukrainian National Team Protests against Allowing Russian Athletes to Participate in the Olympics
The doctor of the Ukrainian national football team, Maksym Betsko, held a protest against the admission of athletes from Russia and Belarus to the Olympics by writing a message on his arm.
On his right arm, he had an arrow with the inscription "Neutral? Shoot!". Additionally, he pointed to his heart and the inscription "Ukraine" on his shirt with the coat of arms of Ukraine.
"Neutrality is killing Ukraine and Ukrainians right now. On July 8, bombs were falling on a children's hospital in the center of Kyiv, taking the lives of children and doctors. The neutrality and passiveness of Russians led to this. On Medical Workers' Day, I am expressing my protest against the admission of 'neutral' athletes to competitions. They represent Russia, and their participation symbolically supports aggression," Betsko commented on Facebook.
He also stated that Ukrainians will not just participate in the Olympic Games, creating the illusion that everything is fine with us.
"Everything is NOT fine with us. Neutrality kills. If you are neutral - you are shooting me right now!" - emphasized the doctor.
Let us recall that Ukraine reached the team final of the Olympics in artistic gymnastics.
