NESTLE has stopped producing the popular chocolate bar
NESTLE has confirmed that the decision to cease the production of its beloved chocolate bar will remain in effect despite numerous fan requests to bring it back. This is already the second time the company has abandoned this treat, which has generated a lively response from consumers online. The Drifter bar appeared on store shelves in the 1980s but was discontinued in 2007.“Many people are expressing their dissatisfaction and hoping for a return. We listen to our fans, but for now, the decision will remain unchanged,”the company's statement said.
According to The Sun: Consumers are actively leaving feedback on social media and online sales platforms, expressing their concerns over the cessation of Drifter production. The sweets of the 1980s evoke nostalgia in many, further increasing the demand for the revival of this product.
NESTLE's refusal to produce Drifter is yet another confirmation of changes in consumer tastes and the market. The removal of popular products from the assortment may indicate a strategic realignment in the company trying to meet the new needs of buyers. Whether NESTLE can convince its audience of the rationale behind this move will only be revealed by time.
