According to The Sun: The notorious criminal known as “Bushman,” who disappeared four years ago along with his children, has again come to the attention of the police due to suspicion of shoplifting.
Under the name Tom Phillips, he vanished in New Zealand with his three children and is currently wanted on multiple charges, including robbery and illegal possession of firearms.

Recently, a new video from surveillance cameras surfaced, showing two masked individuals attempting to break into a store in Piopio, on the North Island.
The police reported that the criminals stole groceries and fled on an ATV.
Tom vanished back in December 2021 after losing legal custody of his children – Jayda (11 years old), Maverick (10 years old), and Amber (9 years old) – in favor of his wife.
Since then, a national manhunt has been underway in New Zealand, but Tom has not yet been caught, despite being repeatedly seen by the police.
Detective Senior Sergeant Andy Sanders noted: “At the heart of this situation are three children who have not been able to return home for four years. Their well-being is our top priority.”
He has been charged with several offenses, including aggravated robbery, aggravated assault, and illegal possession of firearms.
He is also accused of robbing a bank and shooting at a supermarket employee in 2023.
Authorities believe someone may have been helping Tom, and after the most recent incident, they are considering what this might mean for the situation.
The detective asks: “Does this mean he may have fallen out with those who were helping him? Or is he just so confident in his abilities that he isn't afraid to steal even at night?”
Tom and his children were last seen in October of last year.
Jayda, 11, Maverick, 10, and Amber, 9, have not attended school since their father took them into seclusion

The police express serious concern for the well-being of the children, as they have had no contact with the outside world and have not received education for the past few years.
A reward was previously offered for information that could help return the children, but this expired before details became known.
In February this year, another suspicious sighting occurred when a citizen reported seeing four people in camouflage at a stop near State Highway 4, south of Te Kuiti.
Tom's family has publicly appealed to him to get in touch.

The police express serious concerns regarding the children
This month, Tom's mother, Julia, reached out to local media: “Tom, I’m so sad that you think you had to act this way. You didn’t consider how much we love you and are ready to support you.
“It hurts me every time I see pictures of the children and you, as well as pieces of your belongings that have been left here.
“I think about how things could have been if you hadn't disappeared.
“Jayda, Maverick, Amber – I love you very much and I really miss being part of your life.
“Every day I wake up and hope that today you will come home.”
Tom's sister, Rozie Phillips, also expressed similar feelings: “Maybe he will see this and understand that he can come home, and that we are here for him, and everything will be okay.
“There is so much love and support, and we are ready to help you go through whatever you need to go through.
“I miss you and being part of your life, and I truly want to see you and the kids again.”
Phillips is an experienced fugitive, making his search even more complicated
