Benjamin Sesko: a new victim of the Manchester United crisis after the defeat to City.
According to The Sun: Benjamin Sesko became a true symbol of loneliness in Manchester after United suffered a crushing 3:0 defeat to City.
Phil Foden's goal in the first half, later emphasized by two precise strikes from Erling Haaland in the second half, forced many fans of the Red Devils, who supported the team from the away stand, to decide to leave the stadium before the final whistle.
Sesko turned out to be extremely invisible on the field, touching the ball only 20 times and not once entering the opponent's penalty area.
His average position on the field was significantly lower than necessary for a main striker.
Such a performance raised concerns due to parallels with Ramus Hoyloun from last season.
Sesko was substituted after 80 minutes of quite a bitter game.
Among other players that will be highlighted during the analysis of this unsuccessful game are Luke Shaw, Manuel Ugarte, and coach Ruben Amorim.
Problems in attack
Sesko, who was supposed to become United's main striker, marked a deep position on the field, leaving left-back Patrick Dorg the only one who occupied a more advanced front.
His position was closer to the playing positions of central midfielders Bruno Fernandes and Ugarte, while right winger Noussair Mazraoui also did not lag behind.
Fans on social media expressed concern and sympathy, comparing Sesko to Hoyloun, noting that all his efforts were in vain without proper support.
One fan on social media wrote:
“I feel sorry for Sesko, they are turning him into Hoyloun again.”
Another noted:
“For everyone who criticized Hoyloun. Do you still think he was the problem? Look at Sesko today. He was doing his job every time he got the ball, but where was the HELP?”
A third added:
“If nothing changes, Sesko will face the same problems as Hoyloun.”
Another commentator mentioned:
“Sesko suffers from the same problems as Hoyloun. No one can find him.”
However, Amorim urged to be patient with Sesko, stating on BBC Radio 5 Live:
“He will feel that he is playing in the strongest league in the world. We can help Sesko use his qualities, but it will take time.”
Despite all the difficulties, United and Sesko need a new impulse next week when the team hosts Chelsea at Old Trafford. Fans have exhausted their patience, and the team urgently needs to improve its game.
