Newcastle canceled 45 tickets for schoolchildren for the match against Barcelona: what is the reason.
Cancellation of tickets for children in Newcastle
According to The Sun: Newcastle canceled 45 tickets intended for schoolchildren for the match against Barcelona.
High school in Dundee, located nearly 200 miles from 'St. James' Park' stadium, had to return these tickets.
GettyThe reason for the cancellation was dissatisfaction expressed by the Newcastle fan club.
A school representative noted that the tickets were purchased 'in good faith', but it turned out that they were obtained through unauthorized resale.
During the open sale, there were queues of 110,000 people trying to buy the remaining tickets for the Champions League match.
A Newcastle representative said:
“These tickets will be available for Newcastle fans through the club's existing ticket sales system.”
Only a few thousand lucky ones managed to get the most sought-after ticket in the city, as club members participated in the lottery.
Many people were disappointed that a school, which charges £20,606.40 a year, received tickets as part of a group package.
The fan association received numerous inquiries about this incident, and chair Lisa Moll commented on the situation:
“We have members who pay a fee every year, but there is no guarantee of getting a ticket. We received many inquiries from members who did not receive any tickets in the lottery last season.”
She added:
“This is a lottery, tickets are not guaranteed, but it is really regrettable, when they see that people who are not Newcastle fans get the chance to attend such a significant game.”
It is known that this season 78 season tickets or memberships have been canceled due to unauthorized resale.

“High School in Dundee worked with an approved provider, and the tickets were purchased as part of a group package.”
The situation with the cancellation of tickets for schoolchildren revealed a serious problem with unauthorized resale, which threatens the chances of true fans of getting tickets. Newcastle fans are eager to attend matches of their favorite club, and such incidents cause outrage among supporters.
The situation also highlights the huge interest in Champions League matches, leading to numerous attempts at ticket resale. Clubs should find more effective solutions to prevent similar cases in the future.
