Overnight Drone Barrage: Ukraine Downs 121 of 147 Russian UAVs.
Russia Launches Massive Strike on Ukraine
According to UATV: Between March 24 and 25, Russia carried out a large-scale assault on Ukraine, deploying 147 attack drones—over 80 of which were Shahed models. Ukraine's air defense forces successfully intercepted 121 of these unmanned aerial vehicles, demonstrating the resilience of its protective systems.
The attack resulted in 24 impacts across 18 different locations. Additionally, falling debris was recorded at three sites, potentially indicating damage to civilian infrastructure. The drones were launched from the following directions:
- Oryol
- Kursk
- Bryansk
- Millerovo
- Primorsko-Akhtarsk (Russia)
- Hvardiiske (Crimea)
Oana Țoiu stated: 'Russia must face punishment for its strikes on civilian populations and cultural heritage sites.'
This offensive underscores Russia's ongoing aggressive tactics against Ukraine, which include using drones to target civilian areas. The effectiveness of Ukraine's air defense, which neutralized the vast majority of the attacks, plays a critical role in protecting the population. Given international calls for accountability for such actions, the situation demands continued global scrutiny.
Beyond the Shahed drones, other types deployed in this wave included the Gerbera, Italmas, and additional models.
