March 13 Strikes on Ukraine

According to UATV: On March 13, enemy forces targeted Ukraine using a ballistic missile and a swarm of drones, including Shahed-type unmanned aerial vehicles. Ukrainian air defense systems successfully neutralized the vast majority of these incoming threats.

The Iskander-M ballistic missile was launched from Russia’s Rostov region. In total, 126 drones of various models were deployed in this attack, among them:

  • Shahed
  • Gerbera
  • Italmas
  • others

These drones were sent from multiple launch points, including Bryansk, Oryol, Kursk, Millerovo, and Primorsko-Akhtarsk in Russia, as well as Hvardiiske in the temporarily occupied Crimean peninsula.

Approximately 80 of the drones launched were Shaheds. Ukrainian air defenses managed to shoot down or suppress 117 enemy drones. However, one ballistic missile and 8 strike drones hit their targets across 7 different locations. The debris from downed drones fell on 5 sites throughout Ukraine.

Anti-Drone Corridors in Ukraine

Notably, Ukraine has established 42 kilometers of protected anti-drone routes in the Dnipropetrovsk region, a measure that bolsters safety amid relentless aerial assaults.

This attack is part of Russia’s ongoing military campaign against Ukraine, employing a range of weaponry to damage civilian infrastructure and military assets. The interception of such a high number of drones highlights the effectiveness of Ukraine’s air defense, which continues to adapt under wartime conditions. The expansion of anti-drone corridors further demonstrates that Ukrainian forces are actively enhancing security measures to counter evolving battlefield challenges.
